Thoda Thinko yaar...

Language.. An amazing phenomenon which makes two pieces of furniture communicate with each other.. Am really amazed by the way language develops.. between two people, from one form to other... and the mutation of a language to another form keeps happening all our life just the same way the evolution of man from an ape happened.. and knowingly or unknowingly all of us contribute to it.. we contribute to the way something is spoken, we add on terminologies.. and the outcome is a totally different language..

I am amused by the way words and phrases are framed now a days... and whats more amusing is how these words change meanings day by day... I have heard lot of newly formed words in the past ... but last 4-5 years have been ultimate... Since there is cricket fever all around, lemme start with something related to that..During the 2003 World cup there was a program in Set Max called "extraa innings" which was framed to provide discussion on each match before and after the match. Now everybody knows what that word meant but it started getting used for refering many other meanings.
Check out## Scene one: Guy comes back to hostel late by 2 hours(after class getting over).. Actually, he goes to meet his GF..when somebody asks abt that guy, he is told he's gone to play an "extraaa Innings"
Scene Two: Poor guy suffering from loose motions sitting in the toilet.... A guy says loudly... Abe tera extra innings jaldi khatam kar aur baahar aa!!!!
Scene Three: People sitting in a bar talk...Lets have an extraa innings now...(for an extra peg!!!!)

Now compare how many meanings that one phrase was used for and that too a phrase thats not more than even 4 years old....and then There are more recent words like gandhigiri... which was invented in lage raho.... Here people have already started using it in different senses...
For example..
Beggar standing in front of your car and not moving out till you pay something... Gandhigiri
A person smiling back at you(eventhough mockingly) if you are scolding him/her... Gandhigiri
I would leave it to Mr Gandhi to decide whether its being used correctly because thet word "Gandhigiri" itself is mutated..

Now sometimes, the development goes wayward and we use weird lingo to express things that can be easily expressed in the existing language... like 'Thoda socho' becomes 'thoda thinko'
"fuse ho gaya" becomes "fusiyaa gaya" and "gimme a hug" becomes "hug do" :-) Now.. there you go... Hug do??? I mean .. how much does it take to say Thoda socho in place of thoda thinko? Is it for being 'cool?' Dont think so...

Its high time for us to realise that these words are good to listen to for some time but lets not make them our new language.. Lets maintain a bit of originality and use these words only for fun..

Am i preaching??? Maybe... But thats gives you some food for thought!!!
Anyways..... Load nai lene ka... Chill Maadi...

Touch Mein Raho....

Long time no blog.... Its not that i didnt get time to write a blog all this while.. only that once you start neglecting something, you keep neglecting till one fine morning you wake up and find that you have lost touch in doing something that was your passion.. and all this happens because of laziness and neglect.. Ill tell you what.. Most of the time we neglect something that we love doing so much that we later find it very difficult to get into groove and most of the people end up giving up that activity....

Here is how it builds up.... We do something that we are interested in and like it a lot... at some point for some reason we dont do it for some time.. than something really important turns up and we delay it further and further till the important thing is done.. and then some other thing comes up.. and ultimately we realise that we have lost interest....

Will tell you something.. "Its not right to delay something because other things have got delayed". Even if you have lost touch, try doing it again once or twice.. you will realy enjoy it once you get back to form.. there are very less things in life that we love doing and which refreshes us... Makes us feel happy... Let not the demon of laziness eat away our fun in life..

Same is the case with friendships.. Never lose touch with your friends... there will be friends that you like, there will be friends that you once liked, there will be friends that you lost touch...

Revive all the friendships.. People momentarily feel i dont need somebody anymore but going further.. there will be times when you will feel "i wish he/she was here". Once you neglect somebody, you will feel lazy to talk again.. and then you lose touch.. and when you need a friend you wont have him/her....

The bottom line is.... DONT BE LAZY...
